DEMCO’s Rural Electric Youth Tour 2010
On Tuesday, March 2, 2010, Courtland Douglas and Ryan Sanchez of Redemptorist High School along with ten other students from area schools were honored at a banquet held at White Oak Plantation. DEMCO has hosted this event for the past 32 years. Each year, the eleventh graders around the DEMCO service area are provided with two writing prompts. This year’s topics were “Electricity and Me” and “The Next Energy Source.” Twelve finalists were selected and each finalist presented his or her essay in front of family, friends, and a panel of judges at the banquet. A final four were selected to receive a free trip to Washington D.C. Redemptorist High School is very proud of Courtland and Ryan. They did an outstanding job.
