Dear Parent(s),
Attached is the common application form for admission to ninth* grade (*grades 7,8,10 & 11 are below) for Ascension Catholic, St. Michael's, Catholic High School, Redemptorist, St. John's, and St. Joseph's Academy. Please read the form carefully and fill out each line completely. Failure to answer all questions could decrease your child's chance of being accepted into a school.
All students are to take the test Saturday, December 1st, at their school of first choice. When selecting your child's first choice, please give careful consideration to the school's philosophy and mission statement in accord with your child's talents and abilities. The school of first choice should be the school that your child would like to attend. Only after the schools have made their selections from those students that have listed them as their first choice will they consider students that listed the school as second and third choice, if there are any available spaces.
For those students who will be testing at Redemptorist, report to the main office for 8:00 a.m. Saturday, December 1st. Bring at least two #2 pencils and a calculator. Also you need your social security number for the answer sheet. The test will end around 10:45 a.m. Accommodations for 504 students will be provided; however, the following must be provided to Redemptorist by Friday, November 16th.
a. Professionally diagnosed disability. b. Approproate documentation on file at your present school. c. Proof of extended time used for tests at your present school due to the disability.
Students who score fifty percentile or below on the Math or English components of this test will be required to attend a two-week enrichment class over the summer to improve his/her skills. Satisfactory completion of the course is required for entrance into the 9th grade; there will be no exceptions to this policy. The dates of the classes are May 27th - June 6th. A registration form will be mailed in the spring if you are involved in this program.
Please keep this letter to refer to, as we will not mail a letter stating that we received your application. Letters of acceptance and non-acceptance will be mailed Friday, March 7th. Our goal is for the high schools to work together so that we can better serve those students and parents that have been in our Catholic Elementary Schools.
Sincerely,
John C. Fabre, Principal
