The Summer Reading Program has been revamped for the 2010-2011 school year. As a department, we are trying to make this program most beneficial for you, the student. All students will be assigned a novel to read over the summer in which a test will be administered shortly after returning to school. This test will focus on characters, setting, major events, conflicts, and themes. Although the Honors students are reading two novels, the Honors students will only take one test, and it will cover the same novel that the regular English classes read. Each teacher will assign an in-class diagnostic essay at the beginning of the school year as well.
